It's what I do

I {LOVE} to take pics. I've {loved} taking pics for as long as I can remember. I think it stems from wanting so much to remember every little piece of everything; ie: family, friends, etc...
I remember my first camera that was actually . It was a Kodak 110 Film camera, slim, baby blue, had one of the slider things to change exposures... remember those? I'm looking for a replica or foto just for kicks. I left it in the back window of Ma's car, naive young thing, and it melted... lovely... I've learned my lesson.
My next camera was a Pentax 35mm. LOVED this camera. Ma got it for me when I was 14, for Christmas. Seriously took the best stinkin' pictures. Still have it and it just needs a new spring in the zoom knob. I was sad, in a way, when I bought my next camera, just because this one had been so good to me.
The SLR is my baby. Nikon N60. I was able to get this bad boy with a tenure bonus from good ol' CB (good for so many things). I still used my little Pentax for backup, black & whites on hand, and it was my safety blanket. The Nikon is a beauty. I still can't believe that the digital world has taken over and made my baby "old" and "outdated" and "uncool". But it sure does take nice pics.
I have since purchased a few digital cameras... not much to pronounce about. Digital is easy, fun, cheap, really fun, and did I mention cheap? You only have to print the pics you want and you can take a million pictures of the same exact thing... sometimes that may be good or bad...
One thing I think I enjoy about taking pictures are the "accidental" perfect moments. I find myself posing and creating scenes now, just because I can.
I have looked into retiring my SLR, trading it in for a digital SLR, which, by golly, are just about the most beautiful, fun, wonderful things I've ever seen.
But... I want my work to be Honest. Real. Accidental.
I want it to be ME. So here's to my work. Whatever it may be...
(digital, scanned, photoshopped, film, good ol' negative, picasoed, copied...whatever)
Please enjoy.

in the beginning...

In the beginning, there was this...

only mine was light blue... it had the cool 110 film that looked like a camera by itself...

I remember taking this camera with us on camping trips down to Zion, Arches, etc...

One vacay, it was nestled in the back window... it was hot... it melted... I think I cried.

I've since moved on...
